Construction is in full swing now that elementary buildings are empty, thanks to our custodial and maintenance staff. At McCabe, workers have progressed into the finishing stages of the new addition, with bathroom accessories, millwork, lighting, acoustical ceiling grid, carpet tile, and LVT all underway. In the gym, acoustic panels, sports equipment, and wall mats have all been installed in preparation for the sports floor installation next week. In the existing building, hazardous material abatement, new fire protection, and cafeteria/kitchen framing has begun in earnest..
The addition of the LaPerche school is nearly complete and the general contractor has moved on to closing out punch list items. Site work, including the installation of new gas and water mains, is being completed. The focus of this summer’s work will be in the existing school and will include bathroom renovations, hazardous materials abatement, and fire protection installation.
Old County Road School continues to progress on schedule with the envelope of the building wrapping up over the next two weeks, including Kalwall installation, window installation, and brick repointing. Crews have begun renovating the gym space, replacing the glass block and repointing and repairing masonry. Interior work is also well underway, consisting of fire protection, bathroom renovations, hazardous material abatement, and finish work.
